Mrs. Orpah M. Rogers, 84, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Mrs. Rogers worked for the Cumberland County Council on Aging. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mae McElveen; and her brothers, Thomas and James McElveen. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, in the chapel of Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Louis Hatchell and the Rev. Gene Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, July 10, 2008, at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers is survived by two sons, Wade Rogers of Lumberton and Jimmy Rogers of Whispering Pines; four daughters, Ruth Harrelson of Loris, S.C., Mattie Hardin of Fairmont, Marilyn Teague of Lumberton and Yvonne Caffee of Maxton; a sister, Naomi Barrett of Richmond, Va.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
