FAYETTEVILLE - Army Retired Sgt. 1st Class Owen Ingram, 89, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Ingram was a retired sergeant with the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and was a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church. He was born in Four Oaks on Sept. 29, 1924, one of eight children born to the late Jessie and Lena Ingram. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Cedar Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Dicey-Dunn Cemetery in Four Oaks, with military honors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Ingram. Surviving are his daughter, Sherry Grimes and husband, Stanley, of Fayetteville; son, Terry Ingram of Roseboro; brother, Earl Ingram and wife, Marjorie, of Pinehurst; grandson, Chad Grimes and wife, Jennifer, of Fairfax, Va. and their son, Carson Grimes, and grandson, Jonathan Grimes and wife, Jenna, of Fayetteville and they have a son on the way they will name Owen. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 1 to 2p.m. in Cedar Falls Baptist Church In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Falls Baptist Church, 6181 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28311.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Cedar Falls Baptist Church burial will follow in Dicey-Dunn Cemetery in Four Oaks with military honors.
