FAYETTEVILLE - Army Retired Sgt. 1st Class Owen Ingram, 89, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Ingram was a retired sergeant with the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and was a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church. He was born in Four Oaks on Sept. 29, 1924, one of eight children born to the late Jessie and Lena Ingram.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Cedar Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Dicey-Dunn Cemetery in Four Oaks, with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Ingram.
Surviving are his daughter, Sherry Grimes and husband, Stanley, of Fayetteville; son, Terry Ingram of Roseboro; brother, Earl Ingram and wife, Marjorie, of Pinehurst; grandson, Chad Grimes and wife, Jennifer, of Fairfax, Va. and their son, Carson Grimes, and grandson, Jonathan Grimes and wife, Jenna, of Fayetteville and they have a son on the way they will name Owen.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 1 to 2p.m. in Cedar Falls Baptist Church
