Ms. Pat Blackman, 52, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012, at 1 o'clock p.m. in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. John Blackman, Jr. officiating. The burial will follow at Judson Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, April 7, 2012, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home and other times at the home of Robert and Judy Blackman at 249 Ned Ashley Road, Fayetteville NC. Pat was an avid and accomplished bicycle rider, having been recognized for raising over $60, 000 in the past 5 years for "Ride Without Limits" with Easter Seals/United Cerebral Palsy. She was a graduate of Cape Fear High School where she was very active in sports; she graduated from Fayetteville State University and worked as a case manager with Community Innovations of Robeson County; she also had participated in community softball leagues. She is survived by her best friend and partner Sherry Okell of Fayetteville; siblings, Robert Blackman and wife Judy of Fayetteville, Joan Duncan and husband Ronald of Indiana, Jean Gales and husband John of Asheville, John Blackman and wife Susan of Fayetteville, and Susan Wynne and husband Robert of Fayetteville; her babies, Mitzey, Cannon and Dale the dogs and Callie the cat; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Ride Without Limits c/o of Easter Seals…..
