Cmsgt (Ret) Paul Kenneth Bunce, 79 of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Tuesday April 9th, 2013 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Ken was born on June 12th,1933, in Fayetteville, NC. He was the son of the late Mr. Wiley B. Bunce and Dora Capps Bunce. He had a distinguished military career with the Air Force for over 23 years and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Other accomplishments include The Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster and The Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters. He was also selected Pacific Air Command NCO of the year along with many letters of appreciation from the the Air Force. Ken then served over 20 years of civil service employment at Fort Bragg and was recognized as achieving over 40 years of Government Service. He was a loving and devoted husband for over 54 years, a Father, a Brother, Papa, and a friend to anyone who knew him. Mr. Bunce (Ken) is survived by his wife Brenda Cannon Bunce, his twin brother Earl K. Bunce, Harvey Herman Bunce, a sister Leola Culbreth, a daughter Kim Bunce McIlwain, a son Paul K. Bunce II, and his wife Cheryl. His grandchildren, Tiffany Carpenter and husband Will, Savannah Kochel and husband Phil, Stephanie Boyd and husband Chase, Paul K. Bunce III and fiance Semantha, Jill McIlwain and Dalton Bunce. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Bailee and Gabriel. He was loved and will be missed by all including his furry companion and best friend, Mitzi. Ken had a passion for gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family at the beach house. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, in Fayetteville, NC, with Pastor Rehrer and Pastor Bobby Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, NC. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the Funeral Home Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
