MSG Paul Wesley Devine, (US Army Retired), 68 of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010.
He was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He entered the Army in 1960, was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and proudly served his country for 31 years. He retired in 1991 out of Fort Bragg, NC and made Fayetteville his home.
He was a Mason that held memberships with Morelight Lodge in Germany and John Huske Anderson Lodge of Fayetteville, NC. He was also a Retiree of the United States Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his Father, James "Pete" Devine; Mother, Ellen Taylor Devine; 2 sisters, Bobby Jean Christiansen and Mary Ann Williams; a brother, James F. Devine.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Helen Hammonds Devine of the home; a daughter, Shela Devine Rivers and husband Larry of Fayetteville, NC; a son, Max Riddle and wife Amanda of Huntsville, AL; 2 sisters, Betty Jo Babin and husband J.D. of Three Rivers, TX, and Alice Riggins and husband Mack of Rison AR; and a brother J.L. Devine and wife Sue of Searcy, AR; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:00pm at Walstone Memorial Baptist church in Fayetteville, NC. Burial will follow directly afterwards at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville, with full Military Honors and Masonic Burial Rites.
