Paul R.
Laube
December 4, 1953 – October 14, 2015
Paul Rudolf Laube, 61, was born December 4th, 1953 in Eislingen, Germany. In 1957 he immigrated with his family to America and lived in New York City.
He was a 1971 graduate of Aviation High School in Queens where his studies focused on airframe mechanics.
He spent a year after high school living in his hometown in Germany. He then attended and graduated from Reutlingen School of Textile Design in Reutlingen, Germany. His first job in the textile trade was with Sigmund Braun in Eislingen.
Paul was a great lover of rock and roll and especially of the blues. He availed himself as an interpreter of German for the English musician that needed to communicate with the local roadies. He had musical talent in playing the drums, a little slide guitar and enjoyed jamming on his blues harmonica.
He later moved back to the states and worked in textile design in North and South Carolina. With the decline of the textile business Paul began to think about becoming an art teacher. His teaching career began in 2001 in Edgecombe County while living in Washington, NC.
After meeting his future wife, Dale Parker, he moved to Fayetteville to be closer to her and to teach at Cliffdale Elementary School. Everyone at Cliffdale knew Paul as Mr. "L". Teaching became his passion and he excelled at it.
Paul Laube is survived by his wife, Dale Parker, his son, Austin Laube of Charleston, SC, his brother Manfred Laube of Watertown, NY, his mother, Brigitte Holl Laube, of Poinciana, FL and he is predeceased by his father, Paul Joseph Laube.
