Paul Carleton Rumbaugh, Jr., 84, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.
Paul was born on August 11, 1940, in Allegheny, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Carleton Rumbaugh, Sr. and Louise Grubbs Rumbaugh.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 12 noon in the Chapel at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Paul retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Colonel after serving 22.5 years where he served with the 82nd Airborne and as a Mental Health Counselor.
After retiring from the military, Mr. Rumbaugh and his wife owned and operated the Rumbaugh Family Treatment Center where he was dedicated to helping others, especially children. For the past few years, he worked pro bono.
Paul was a great man and had a heart of gold. He loved his family and country. His passion was running in marathons, and he was a truly dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Fritz and his son-in-law, Scott Manns.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Monty Rumbaugh; children, Celeste VanNess (Vince), Carig Rumbaugh (Florence), Guadalupe Knight (Steve), Christina Bloss (Matt), Bobby Bustamante, Patricia Manns, and Orlando Bustamante; sister, Linda Gaye Rumbaugh; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047
