Percy Leroy Norton, Jr., 92, of Sneads Ferry, formerly of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Woodbury Wellness Center in Hampstead, N.C.

Percy was born on April 27, 1931, in Cumberland County to the late Percy Leroy Norton, Sr. and Mable Hilburn Norton. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and loved America.

Percy retired from Civil Service at New River Air Station. He loved the beach life and enjoyed boating, commercial fishing, being on the water and his extracurricular activities. He loved his community and enjoyed riding around the neighborhood on his golf cart.

He had a love for his family, and his fur baby Maggie.

The family will receive friends from 12-12:45 on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents Percy was preceded in death by his brother, Howard E. Norton.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon N. Mayhew, Beverlee Conklin (Doug), grandchildren, Cory Ash, Mandy Boyette (Kelvin), Kristal McDonagh (Mike); great grandchildren, Emma Reno, Allie Reno, Carson Boyette, Grayson Boyette, Sloan McDonagh, Ronan McDonagh, and Maddox Ash
