FAYETTEVILLE    Pete Wheeler,88, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 in his home with his beloved family by his side. Pete was an avid fisherman and an Army veteran. He was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher for over 50 years at Trinity Baptist Church. Pete was a retired insurance adjuster with Allstate Insurance for over 30 years. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Mavis Wheeler; daughters, Pamela W. Burris, Kathy W. Gautier and husband David; Lisa W. Stewart and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Danielle McMullen and husband Scott, Brad Gautier, Jackson Stewart and great-granddaughter, Alexa McMullen.
