Mr. Phillip Thomas \\"T-Bird\\" Cates, 63, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Cates will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at 11 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel. The burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery. Mr. Cates is survived by his sister, Shirley Wilson of Fayetteville; a brother, Theodore Cates. Mr. Cates was retired from IBM. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 13, 2007, from 6 to 8 pm.
