Rachel Hair Berckman, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on March 24, 2022.

Rachel was born in Cumberland County on September 16, 1935. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents, Lester and Alice Hall Hair; sister, Louise Hair; sister-in-law, Linda Berckman; and Asher Sheets.

She is survived by brother-in-law, Jimmy Berckman; niece, Allyson Joyner and husband, Danny; and nephew, Brien Berckman.  Additional survivors to cherish her memory are great nephew, Justin Joyner and wife, Victoria; great niece, Jordan Sheets and husband, Robby; and great niece, Sydney Alexander and husband, Danny.

Over the last five years Rachel enjoyed spending time with great nieces and nephews, Aliza and Jace Joyner, and Sutton Sheets. Rachel was a faithful member of Judson Baptist Church and retired from a career at Branch Banking and Trust.

The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM. There will be a service to celebrate Rachel's life at Judson Baptist Church on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Judson Baptist Church designated to the Judson Quilters Fund at 505 Judson Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
