Obituary

Randall Wayne Blackburn, 58, of Fayetteville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Randall was born on August 11, 1967, in Waco, Texas, to the late Floyd Eugene Blackburn and Sandra Thrower Blackburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Irene Thrower, and his paternal grandparents, Floyd Blackburn and Billie Lee Cathey.

As a young man, Randall proudly joined the United States Army, where he served his country with honor and dedication for over 22 years. He retired with the rank of First Sergeant (1SG), earning numerous awards and medals throughout his distinguished military career. Following his retirement from the Army, he continued serving others as a Veterans Service Officer with the Cumberland County Veterans Services.

Randall had a deep faith in God and was a devoted loving husband, father, and pawpaw. He was a steadfast protector and provider who cherished his family above all else. He proudly supported his oldest son, who followed in his footsteps by joining the U.S. Army, and he was a constant presence in all his children's collegiate athletic pursuits. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, Randall brought laughter to those around him. He also had a passion for collecting numerous items through the years, a hobby he greatly enjoyed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Penny Woolard Blackburn; his sons, Cameron Allen Blackburn and wife Corinna of Killeen, Texas, Brett Dylan Blackburn and wife Haley of Waco, Texas, and Tyler Storm Blackburn of the home; his daughter, Amanda Raine Blackburn of the home; his grandsons, Caden Allen Blackburn and Connor Michael Blackburn; his brother, Ronald Blackburn; his sister, Kimberly Robinson; his cherished fur baby, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Judson Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Full Military Honors.
