Rayford D. Beard Jr. FAYETTEVILLE — Rayford Donald "Donnie" Beard Jr., 59, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in Heritage Suites. Donnie was a 1973 graduate of Terry Sanford Senior High School and was an avid and faithful Bulldog fan. He had resided at the Magnolias of Santee, S.C. for the last seven years prior to returning home to Fayetteville, and living in Heritage Suites. Donnie had a radiant smile and he befriended many people and was loved by all at Magnolias and Heritage Suites. He was a faithful member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.The funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church sanctuary with the Rev. John Cook and Dr. Robbie Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends Thursday October 25, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the church gathering hall. Donnie is survived by his sisters, Linda Beard Kay and husband David of Santee, and Kathy Beard Allen and husband Greg of Fayetteville; mother, Katherine S. Beard of Santee; nephew, David W. Kay Jr. of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; nieces, Jennifer Kay Bilbro and husband Chris of Mount Pleasant, Sarah Brooke Allen of Fayetteville, and Lynn Allen Johnson of Raleigh; great-nephew, Jackson Mark Bilbro; and great-niece, Hannah Kay Bilbro, both of Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his father, R. Donald Beard Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Don and Katherine Beard Scholarship Fund, c/o Campbell University Advancement, P.O.
