Raymond Best Elliott, 84 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Raymond was born on February 27. 1937 in Dunn, North Carolina to the late William Elliott and Mimy Williams Elliott. He enjoyed gardening, baseball (where he played shortstop and catcher) and woodworking. He was an avid contributor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and he worked in construction where he previously owned and operated a construction company.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 12 noon at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Rockfish Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 11-12 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Fannie Elliott and his son Daryl Elliott.

He is survived by his sons, Belvin "Doug" William, William Patrick "Pat" Elliott (Perous); daughter, Shelia Barnes; brother, Johnny Elliott (Jackie); grandchildren, Brandon Elliott (Crystra), Meeko Elliott (Renata); great grandchildren, Jailani, Zuri, Renyla and Dermani Elliott.
