Obituary

Raymond F. St. Onge, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, January 28th, 2021, at his home.

Born August 19, 1948 to Frank and Agnes St. Onge, Ray was raised by his widowed mother and her parents in Lincoln, Nebraska. He joined the U.S. Army, where he served for 22 years, until his retirement in Ft. Bragg, NC.

Ray is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his previous wife Jan Erne-St. Onge, to whom he was married just shy of 30 years, and with whom they combined their families into a regular Brady Bunch.

Ray was lucky to have found love and companionship again in his last several years. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Lewis of Fayetteville and her daughter Brianna Bridgewater; son, Jon St. Onge (and wife, Terri) of Herndon, VA; daughter, Pam (and husband, Tom) of Stephens City, VA; sons Joe Erne and Andrew Erne, currently traveling; his grandchildren, Amber, Bryce, Logan, and Isabelle; great-grandson, Malachi; many cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Ray loved old homes and classic cars, and traveling to see them, or to grab some ice cream, or to pop in at family events. He would drive hours for an enjoyable experience, just to turn around and drive back home, often well over the posted limits. He preferred email over texting and refused to give up his flip phone.

Ray was able to be home at the end of his time with family at his side; for this, we are all thankful. There are no services planned at this time. Our heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Services, and Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, and a special thank you to neighbor Brandon, for all of your help to Dad and Michelle.
