Mrs. Ressie Sylvia Croom, 83, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Fayetteville, died Saturday July 4, 2009. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 1 o'clock p.m. in Jernigan Warren Chapel in Fayetteville, with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. She is survived by her four sons, Manley Phillip Croom Jr, William Monroe Croom, John Richard Croom, and Christopher Alan Croom; four daughters, Sylvia Louise Broda, Gloria Ann Morton, Rebecca Rose Truesdell, and Mary Caroline McRae; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening, July 10, 2009, at the funeral home.
