Obituary

Reynolds A. Carnevale, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 11:30am to 1pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1pm, Entombment will follow in the Mauseolum at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Myrtle. Sister, Margaret Slavin of Columbus, NC. Son, Victor N. Carnevale and wife, Kathy. Daughter, Patricia C. Gainey and husband, Stan. Five Grandchildren, Jamie C. Moore and husband, Kevin; Christopher Reynolds Holloway and wife, Nicole; Dustin N. Carnevale, Jonathan P. Holloway and wife, Winter; Victoria H. Williams and husband, Ricky. Four Great Grandchildren, Katharine, David, Hailey, and Alexa. Born December 18, 1923, in Newark, NJ. He was a retired Periodontist. He proudly served during WWII as a combat engineer with the 1881st Combat Engineer Battalion. He fought in the Pacific Campaign from 1943-1945. One notable battle was the battle of Leyte Gulf. In his retirement years, he enjoyed flying, restoring vintage aircraft, returning to school where he obtained his second medical degree. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Boys and Girls Home of NC, Inc. 400 Flemington Dr. Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450
