Ricardo Navarrete, 67 of Wade, NC was called to his Heavenly home on July 14, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Rick was born on October 6, 1953 to Job Navarrete and Soyla Martinez Navarrete in Clarksville, TN.

Rick loved sports growing up and played little league baseball and football. Rick graduated from Pine Forest High School in 1971 and continued his love of sports in school playing JV and Varsity football and baseball.  He worked many years in retail before becoming a Professional Truck Driver and worked for Taylor Express until his retirement.

Rick was enjoying his retirement at Fayetteville RV Resort & Cottages. He enjoyed the pot lucks, food trucks, water fights, corn hole tournaments, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades. Decorating his golf cart, quiet nights with a fire and smoking a cigar brought him so much joy. Rick had an infectious smile, not to mention his endless supply of jokes and wisecracks and a quick wit. Rick was a fan of NASCAR and those that knew him know that the Beatles ruled.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Job, Jr., and a niece, Amber Jo Dunn.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancée, Brenda Steiner, of Wade, NC; son, Ricardo A. Navarrete (Lettie) of Lumberton, NC; daughter, Angela Hope Brown of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Belinda Smith (Melvin) of Parkton, NC and Cynthia Leggett (Dennis) of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his two beloved pets, Sadie and Ringo.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 2 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
