Richard Kelly Mercer 76 of Fayetteville, left this world to be with his heavenly Father on Friday morning February 17, 2017.

Richard was a Veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Pembroke College.

He had been a master insurance adjuster with Nationwide Insurance for 30 years and an owner and employee of Mercer Rentals before retiring in Cumberland County.

He is survived by his brother Billy Joe Mercer, his sons, Christopher Kelly Mercer and Richard Kevin Mercer and wife, Candis; and 7 grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Brandon, Helena, Ashleigh, Kaylee and Caiden.

Relatives and friends will be received at Cedar Falls Baptist Church 6171 Ramsey St Fayetteville, on Saturday between 11am - 1 o'clock p.m. The funeral will begin at 1 o'clock p.m. at Cedar Falls Baptist Church and will be followed by a graveside service at Lafayette Memorial Park.
