Mr. Richard Edward Ohmer, 88, died Friday, December 15, 2006, in Pinecrest Retirement Home. A funeral mass will be held at noon Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hope Mills. Father Thanh Nguyen will officiate the service. A burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park West. Mr. Ohmer was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Good Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Ohmer; and a son, Dennis Ohmer. Mr. Ohmer is survived by his son, Richard E. Ohmer Jr. of Hickory; daughter, Elizabeth Ivey of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11 am to noon Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at the church.
