Richard Carr Yarborough, 69, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Richard was born on April 24, 1954, in Lee County, to the late Hunter Yarborough and Maggie Simpson Yarborough.

He retired from Duke Energy after 47 years of service where he worked as a meter-reader and a substation builder.

Richard was a handy man and could build anything. His passion was helping others and during his spare time he enjoyed playing golf.

A memorial service for friends and family to be held at a later date.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

On March 22, 2024, Richard would have celebrated his 50th year anniversary with the love of his life, Pam Nickens Yarborough. Other survivors include his son, Aaorn Yarborough and his wife Jennifer; his granddaughter, Skyler Yarborough; brother, Steve Yarborough, and wife Karen; sister, Judy Perry and husband Shawn.
