Rickey Dean Knight, 68, of Fayetteville, NC went to his eternal home on March 29, 2026.
Rickey was born on March 5, 1958, in Columbus OH, to the late Kenneth L. Knight and Sakiko N. Knight. Rickey graduated from Pine Forest High School in 1976. He then went on to manage and mentor many in the retail business. He worked at Revco, Big Star and Food Lion. Rickey worked at Food Lion for 28 years until medical retirement in 2009. Rickey then started his own landscaping business. It will continue under the management of his wife and nephew, Dallas Knight.
Rickey is survived by his wife of 28 years, Stephanie E. Knight; daughters, Shyann A. Knight and Hadley F. Knight; mother, Sakiko N. Knight; brother, David L. Knight; sisters, Barbara Taylor(Johnny) and Janet Mooney (David); nephews, Dallas Knight, Anthony Knight, and Craig Hensel; nieces, Ashley Froehlich (RJ), Joni Parker (Timothy) and Tiffany Bledsoe (Steven). Rickey is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Knight and nephew, Matthew D. Knight.
Rickey enjoyed spending time in church, reading the Bible and listening to gospel and country music. He also found great joy in spending time with family and friends, coaching kids recreational sports, boating, fishing, watching sports, traveling, working on all his immaculate automobiles, updating his families beautiful home, keeping his lawn in perfect condition, but most of all spoiling his wife and daughters. Rickey touched so many with his kind, caring and loving heart. He was the absolute best husband and father to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
