Rev. Robert Pearson Carter, Sr., 92, of Fayetteville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.
Rev. Carter was an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012, at 3 o'clock p.m. in Autryville Church of God with Rev. Richard Williford and Rev. Larry Autry presiding. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Tatum Carter; his three sons, Robert P. Carter, Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Cedar Creek, John J. Carter and wife, Donna, of Fayetteville, and Scott L. Carter of Fayetteville; two daughters, Sarah Carter Faircloth and husband, Mitchell, of Rocky Mt. and Nora Carter Coble and husband, Jerry, of Mebane; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
