US Army Retired MSG Robert L. Furnish, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. He was born to Carroll and Fannie Furnish in Covington, Kentucky on February 1, 1935. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 2 pm in New Life Baptist Church on Camden Road with Pastor Ed Wilson officiating. The entombment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pearlie, daughter Rose Marie Rault, grandson Joseph Rault, son Clinton Stephens, brother, Ronald, and sisters Jean Biddle, Mary Lou Siler and Brenda Riley. Surviving are daughters, Barbara Hendricks of Hope Mills, Paula Lawrence of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Sivadon of Fayetteville; sons, Robert Furnish Jr. of Honeapath SC, Ronald Furnish of Fayetteville, Glenn Furnish of Rome GA, and John Furnish of St. Pauls; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Furnish served 20 years in the US Army and retired from the US Army
