Robert Fulton
Howie Jr.
December 26, 1955 – February 27, 2026
Robert passed away peacefully at his home Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born in Sacramento, California on December 26, 1955, to his parents Robert F. Howie, Sr, and Minnie S. Howie. After his father finished military service, they moved back to Fayetteville, NC. Robert was a graduate of E.E. Smith High School, and he attended N.C. State University.
Robert lived a very colorful and varied life. He was able to master just about any task he put his mind to. One of his greatest talents was being able to work on all types of mechanical equipment. Robert worked many places and developed life-long friendships everywhere he worked. Early in his career, he worked at M&O Chevrolet and AAMCO Transmissions in Fayetteville. Work also took him overseas to Kuwait to keep generators operational during Desert Storm. Late, Robert secured a position as an engineer for Tide Water Marine in Louisiana, working on ocean tug boats that serviced oil rigs. Finally, wanting to be closer to home, he became a military trainer for Oak Grove Technologies at Camp Mackall.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie S. Howie, and brother, Samuel F. Howie. He is survived by his father, Robert F. Howie, Sr. and brother Nathan Howie (wife, Mary Lynn) of Fayetteville, niece, Lillian Howie of North Myrtle Beach, and nephew, Benjamin Howie of Cullman, AL.
There will be a private burial service scheduled at a later date. Thanks to all his extended family and friends who helped look after Robert during the past few years. Your acts of love and kindness will not be forgotten.
