Robert James "Bob" Lindell, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, in his home. Mr. Lindell was a retired QMC Navy veteran of 22 years. He retired from DeLavel after 20 years and worked as a volunteer firefighter in Staatsburg, N.Y. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Mr. Lindell is survived by two sons, Kevin Lindell of Staatsburg and Brian Lindell of Newbern; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 S. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603.
