Obituary

OXFORD - Robert Lee O'Neal, 87, of 209 Oxford Park Blvd., formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, in his home. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. O'Neal was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby; and a brother, Walter Hardy O'Neal of Whiteakers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 19, 2008, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville, with Chaplain Allen Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. O'Neal is survived by three daughters, Pat Newman and husband Louis of Nashville, Debbie Holland and husband Ward of Hope Mills and Lori Farley and husband Tim of Oxford; three brothers, Raymond, Curtis and Paul O'Neal; two sisters, Edith Ballard and Jean Rogister; five grandchildren, Jamie Woods, Charlie Korn, Joshua Korn, Meghan Farley and Alex Farley; and five great-grandchildren. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
