HOPE MILLS - Mr. Robert E. Underwood, 90, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home Friday morning. Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren funeral home with Pastor Phil Lloyd officiating, burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct 10 at Jernigan-Warren funeral home. He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Perry, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grand children, and 2 soon to be born great-great grandchildren. Mr. Underwood was a faithful member of the Massey Hill Lions club for 28 years, and worked at McLean trucking for 22 years. He was also an army veteran and served his country in WWII. Mr. Underwood is predeceased by his wife Lucille Starling Underwood, and daughter Edna Underwood House. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Massey Hill Lions club, at 1613 Camden Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306. He was loved by many friends, and will be greatly missed.
