Roberta Morrison Thompson, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, at 11 am in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park.

Roberta was a graduate of Massey Hill High School and Worth Business School. She worked for Neil Lindsay Insurance before working for and later retiring from Black and Decker after more than 20 years.

She was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church; she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She doted on all her children with love and devotion.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Deborah Peters and husband, Carl, of Amelia Island, FL, Jean White and husband, Charlie, of Hope Mills, and Patricia Harrelson and husband, Ronald, of Fayetteville; 4 grandchildren, Tracey Hancock, Jason White, Jeremy Harrelson, and Randy White; 9 great-grandchildren, Cristian, Kaitlyn, Emily, Victoria, Randy, Patrick, Casey, Lacy and Zane; sister, Betty Gray McCaskill of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 am Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
