Roger Nelson Ison, 70, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 . Mr. Ison proudly served in the U.S. Navy with 4 tours served in Vietnam, he was also retired from PWC after 21 years of service; he loved his country and was an avid outdoorsman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1-2 Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; sons, Roger, Jr, Bradley and David Barkley; daughter, Holly Thornton; sisters, Wanda Miller, Deborah Gibson and Lori Bittle; Uncle, Robert Stephens; 8 grandchildren.
