Dudley Roger Murphy, Jr., 58, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital with family by his side.

Roger was born in Logan, West Virginia to the late Dudley Roger Murphy, Sr. and Ginger Abay-Abay. He was a U.S. Army Reserves Veteran where he served as a Parachute Rigger with the 824th Quartermaster Company. He was also retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg.

Roger loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Nicki Murphy; his son, Chris Acosta, and two grandchildren, Elijah Douglas and Aurora Acosta. Roger is also survived by a sister, Pam Richardson (Ronnie); two brothers, Terry Murphy (Angela) and Maurice "Tigger" Abay-Abay; his step-father, Maurice Abay-Abay; his aunt, Carla "La La" Waldrop (Barry), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel.
