Roland Arthur Junker of Fayetteville went home to be with Our Lord on Sept. 26, 2008, following an extended illness. His loving wife of 27 years and his eldest son and daughter-in-law were by his side. He was 82. Mr. Junker was born in 1926 in Minnesota to Arthur Junker and Ruby Love Junker and grew up in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, where he got a taste for public service, which was followed by a career of financial and accounting work for the federal government. His service included assignments in Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina. He retired in the mid-1970s and returned to Fayetteville in 1980. There he met the love of his life, Elisabeth Mueller Lehenbauer, who shared his faith in Christ and love of the church. They were married in 1981. Mr. Junker
