Ronald E. Blanchard Sr., 69, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in the N.C. State Veterans Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, in Lafayette Memorial Park with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2007. Mr. Blanchard was a Navy veteran. He is survived by two sons, Ronald E. "Ronnie" Blanchard Jr. and wife Stacey of Nashville, Tenn., and Mark Blanchard and wife Patti of San Diego; two daughters, Kathy Peters of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Sherry Holmes and husband Jeff of Fayetteville; three sisters, Helen Dozier of Arlington, Va., Virginia Armstrong of Belot, Wis., and Betty Burley of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Carol Blanchard of Indian Shores, Fla.; and grandchildren, Crystal Shelton, Ashley and Jeffrey Holmes, Heather Peters and Trae Blanchard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Agnes Blanchard; son, David Lawrence Blanchard and wife Alice Woo Blanchard; brothers, William "Bill" Blanchard and Edgar L. Blanchard; and sister, Iona Brock.
