Retired Air Force Maj. Ronald Norman Thompson, 80, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Services: Funeral, 3 p.m. Wednesday in Walstone Baptist Church. Burial in Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors and Masonic rites. Visitation: 7 to 9 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Survived by: wife, Janet; daughters, Audrey Berry, Barbara Ratledge and Michelle Poston; brother, Wayne; sister, Jeanne Krause; and eight grandchildren.
