Ms. Rose Bill Marks, 56, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, in her residence.
Rose was a woman of tremendous faith who put her family, children, and granddaughter before all else. She was the perfect mother and grandmother. Rose was a woman who seized every opportunity to enjoy life. She was always ready for a laugh and had a positive outlook going through life. Rose had a caring, sweet, and tender heart and was always kind to others. Her strength was incredible and she was a woman of great character.
Rose had many hobbies and interests. As a young mother, her favorite place to be was at home enjoying and caring for her family. Some of her favorite things to do included dancing and exercising, both indoors and outdoors. Rose enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Peyton, who lit up her life. Traveling was something she enjoyed very much. She was always "on the go". She was at peace and happiest when she spent time at the beach.
Professionally, Rose was a teacher assistant, working in three different Cumberland County Schools. She began her career at Raleigh Road Elementary, moved to Glendale Acres Elementary, and retired after working at Howard Hall Elementary School. Working with kindergarten children was one of her loves, and in teaching small children, she excelled.
Rose was dearly loved by her family, her many friends, and her students. Her warm and inviting smile radiated and drew you in to know her beautiful personality. Her wonderful character traits will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her former husband, David Marks; two daughters, Anna Marks and son-in-law Brad Merritt of Zebulon and Carrie Doyle and son-in-law Jeremy Doyle of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Peyton Doyle; brother, Larry Bill and wife, Mary of Goldsboro; sister, Gloria Youngblood of Myrtle Beach; brother-in-law, Rick Marks and wife Cecelia of Fayetteville; mother-in-law, Louise Marks of Fayetteville; nephews, Bryan and Alan Marks, David and Todd Bill, and Bo Youngblood; niece, Kim Fail; and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Bo Bill and mother, Virginia Bill Crysel; stepfather, Bill Crysel; and sister, Mary Bill Gardner.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2 o'clock p.m. at Hay Street United Methodist Church with Rev. David Harvin officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Hay Street UMC. Memorials may be made to the Rose Marks Scholarship Fund at Hay Street United Methodist Church, 320 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
Rose entered this world on July 21st and departed for heaven on July 21st.
