Obituary

Mrs. Rose Carter Pleasant, 76, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at 11 a.m., in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Wayne Ham officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Briar Creek Memorial Gardens in Durham. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pleasant was a faithful Army wife and a loving mother grandmother, sister and friend to all she knew. She was a faithful member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 1/2 years, Retired Army Chief Warrant Officer Nathan E. \\"Ed\\" Pleasant of the home; brother, Frank Carter of Florida; two granddaughters, Ashley Markham Thacker and husband Anthony Thacker, II. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jessica Hope Beeler of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Cadence, Elexis and Zander. Mrs. Pleasant was preceded in death by her two daughters, Joy Markham and Hope Beeler; and brother Ed Carter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
