Obituary

Rosemary K. Link HOPE MILLS - Mrs. Rosemary Klein Link, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, in Hope Mills Retirement Center. Born Feb. 19, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Dena Maris Klein. She grew up in Paoli, Ind., and graduated from high school in Columbus, Ohio. She received a nursing degree from UT Memphis and served as an Army nurse in France and Belgium during World War II. After the war, she enrolled in Ohio State, where she received a journalism degree. Mrs. Link worked for 17 years and retired as head nurse on the fourth floor of Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. She kept her journalism skills honed by composing whimsical poems for any occasion and submitting stories or articles to the local newspaper. In 1975, she married Harold \\"Joe\\" Link. They toured the world together, enjoyed entertaining and helped plan reunions. She was an active member of Christ UMC, TROA, the Retired Nurses Group, the Heartwarmer's Club, and her Bridge Club. She will be remembered for her love of family, her caring for friends and her positive outlook on life. Survivors include her son, John Leslie Sprague and his wife, Emily, of Raleigh; daughter, Kathleen Sprague Jackson of Fayetteville; grandsons, Ray Barnes and Jordan Jackson; granddaughter, Natalie Sprague; nephew, Tony Tritschler and his wife, Liz; and niece, Nancy Crooks and her husband, Cliff. She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St. in Fayetteville at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, followed by visitation with friends. A private committal service will precede the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Thank you to the staff of Hope Mills Retirement Center for their care.
