Mr. Rowland Nathaniel Horne, Jr., 81, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

Rowland was born September 25, 1942, in Hope Mills, NC, to the late Roland Nathaniel Horne, Sr. and Mattie Marie Edge.  He was a faithful member of Northwood Temple since 1977 and the owner/operator of Horne's Recovery and Towing.  He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, going to Atlanta to see a Braves' game, and especially watching his grandson play football.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Leondias Horne and sister, Barbara Matthews.

Rowland is survived by his wife, Pat Swaney Horne; daughter, Natalie Horne (and husband Dennis); son, Kenny Horne (and wife Lisa); grandchildren, Kameryn Horne and Kayla Horne; sister, Sandra Hammond (and husband Jerry); brother, Gary Wayne Horne (and wife Elaine); and Godson, LTC (Ret.) Christian Sessoms.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Northwood Temple, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.    Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28304.
