Ruby R. Aiken
FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Ruby Renfrow Aiken, 81, was called to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, surrounded by her family, who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Earl Aiken; her parents, Willard and Ruth Renfrow; and her brother, Gilbert Renfrow. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Randy Miller, Rose and Ricky Strickland and Patricia and Glenn Mobley; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and Brandi Weaver, Amanda Weaver, Anthony and Fran Strickland, David and Jessica Strickland, Jonathan Strickland, Kimberly Mobley and Emily Strickland; her brother, Roland; and her sisters, Linda Binder and Helen Weaver, all of Fayetteville. Ruby loved the Lord and served him faithfully. Her sweet and gentle spirit was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her. She was a true prayer warrior, who read her Bible daily, showing her strong faith in God. She was a lifelong member of New Life PH Church (formerly Lyon Memorial and Westarea), where she served as the church's secretary treasurer for more than 30 years. After the Lord, her greatest love was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life each day as an example to show us how to live a godly life. Because of her commitment to her family, she worked briefly selling Stanley, at Parks Building Supply and teaching sewing for Fayetteville Technical Community College. She supported her husband and his endeavors with the Fayetteville Ostomy Association and Pearce's Mill Fire Department. She loved to work outside with her flowers. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Anthony Rogers officiating . Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
