FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Ruby Christine Davis Barwick, 83, daughter of the late Maggie Tadlock and George Daniel Davis, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. A resident of Heritage Place since 2008, she was a native and longtime resident of Fayetteville. She met her deceased husband, Emory Earl Barwick, during World War II, and they were married for 49 years. Peace Presbyterian Church members and clergy became a vital part of their lives and continued to nurture and care for them until their passing. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cary Graham Davis. Surviving relatives are her brother, Leonard David Davis and wife Sara; her sons, David Emory Barwick and wife Peg, and Daniel Linton Barwick and wife Ann; her grandchildren, Tracy Barwick Robison and husband Dan, Elizabeth Ann Barwick and David William Barwick; her great-grandchildren, Mary Margaret Robison and Davis Holt Robison; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Davis. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, in Peace Presbyterian Church to celebrate Ruby's life.
