Mrs. Ruriko Nishimoto Long, 84, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, February 4, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
She was a devoted member of Soka Gakkai International here in Fayetteville SGI -USA is a Buddhist Organization in which she was a member for over 50 years. She was also a retired seamstress.
Mrs. Long was born, September 5, 1932 in Ehime-Ken, Japan to the late Tomoichi and Harue Nishimoto.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Long.
She is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Robert Long and wife Catherine of Fishers, IN.; grandchildren, Jacob Montague and Jordan Long; brothers, Noriomi, Susumy, Gojun, Kimehiro, and Toketora Nishimoto; sisters, Toshimi, Kasugae, Wakako and Reiko Nishimoto.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 11:30-12:30 one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
