Ruth Cain ("Nanny"), 94, of Eastover, NC, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. Ruth was the foundation of her family and was abundantly loved by each of them. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were everything to her and she always made sure they knew how much they were loved and how proud she was of each of them.

Ruth was born November 5, 1928, in Harnett County, NC, to the late George Broughton Spence and Lillie Patterson Spence.  She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.  Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Samuel Cain Jr., and six brothers and sisters that she loved dearly.

Ruth is survived by her children, Sam Cain (Debbie), Denice Arnold (Frank), and Paul Cain (Ron Miller); grandchildren, Molly Yoder, Mary Ruth Page, Brandon Arnold, and Sarah Petty; great-grandchildren, Campbell, Charlotte, Asa, and Archie; siblings, Philip Spence and Betty Sue Stephens and many nieces and nephews that she adored.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Salem United Methodist Church.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
