Ruth Jeanne Couture Dumont was born in Auburn, Maine on October 23, 1934 and carried to heaven on September 11, 2021 at the age of 86.

She graduated from St. Dominic's High School in Lewiston, Maine in 1952.  She married Marcel B. Dumont 2 days after her 18th birthday and shared 62 years of marriage and had 5 children, 3 daughters and 2 sons.

Ruth's pride and joy were her 5 children, 11 grand-children and many great grand-children. As a military spouse for 24 years, her life's work was raising her children around the world and across the United States. They retired in Lacey, Washington where she made her home for 42 years.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Marcel, her parents Joseph and Marie Anne Couture, her brother Bertrand Couture, and her sister Lucille Lauzier. She is survived by her sister Pauline Begin and five children, Claire Blanchard (Gary) of Hinesville, GA; Diane Smith of Fayetteville, NC; Tina Barletta (Dennis) of Clayton, NC; Patrick Dumont (Tonya) of Burton, MI & Michael Dumont (Jodi) of Tacoma, WA.

A funeral mass will be said in her honor at a later date.  Donations may be made in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey, Washington.  (812 Bowker St SE, Lacey, WA 98503.)
