Ruth M.
Davis
May 6, 1931 – October 28, 2016
Ruth McCarson Davis, 85, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 28, 2016.
She joins her husband, Mother and Father, 2 brothers and one sister in their heavenly home.
Ruth was proud to be a graduate of the Baptist Orphanage in Thomasville, North Carolina. She was taught to always be loving, compassionate, and a forgiving person. Everyday her life was aimed towards all of these teachings. Her greatest joy was sharing kindness with others. Giving back was her goal every day in her personal and professional life.
"Mama Ruth" owned and managed RSVP Bridal and Formal Wear for 46 years. She felt that competing and helping people as the "local small business" was a way to be known as the "giant" of formal gowns and tuxedos in the Fayetteville area. Helping others was Ruth's mission and a way of thanking God for her many blessings. She is survived by her son Gregory Davis and his wife, Karen of Lewes, Delaware; daughters Kathy Aguinaga and her husband, Lano of Hope Mills and Jackie Taylor and her husband, Randy, of Fayetteville; sisters Betty Bordeaux of Delco, NC and Carolyn Tharrington of Smithfield NC; brother Don McCarson of Walnut Cove NC; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, six nephews, and five nieces. Ruth was a member of Northwood Temple.
Ruth was an avid fan of bowling, basketball, football, ice hockey, and loved to dance. Many hours were spent enjoying watching the Fayetteville FireAnts by Ruth and her family.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Wounded Warriors, North Carolina Children's Home in Thomasville NC, or Northwood Temple Building Fund.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1 PM at Northwood Temple. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11-1 at Northwood Temple. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
