Ruth Jones Hankins, 87, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her home with her beloved family by her side.

Ruth was born May 2, 1935 in Guilford County, NC to the late Margaret Ferree and William Lee Jones. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Hankins.

Ruth was a  retired Administrative Assistant with Fayetteville Technical Community College. She was a faithful member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid bridge player.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. A private burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church in the gathering hall on Monday from 1-2:00 pm.

She is survived by a son, David Hankins and wife Patricia; sister, Eleanor Way; grandchildren, Matthew Hankins (Chassidy), Ashley Herron (Taylor), great-grandchildren, Collin Hankins, Tessa Hankins , Willow Herron and expecting another great-granddaughter, Blakely Herron.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Westmont Dr., Fayetteville, NC 28305.
