Ms. Ruth Hermansen, 55, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Ruth worked as a claims adjuster for many years. However, her true passion was acting as her own animal rescue, as she sought to help any and every distressed or abandoned animal she encountered along her way. This embodied how big of a heart she truly had. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 1 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Archie Barringer presiding. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. Ruth is survived by her longtime companion Bob Dickens; her beloved Willows and Cujo; and many dogs and cats that she could not turn her back on. Family and friends will gather prior to the service on Tuesday, from 12 to 1 pm at Jernigan Warren.
