Dr. Samuel J. Womack, 95, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. He was born December 31, 1915 in Atlanta, Georgia and came to Fayetteville in 1960 with his wife Norma Clark Womack as one of the founding faculty members of Methodist University. Dr. Womack was preceded in death by his parents Sam Jones and Lucille Bradley Womack, his wife Norma Clark Womack, his sister Lucille Lamar Womack and his brother Thornton L. Womack. He is survived by his daughter Lynda Womack Parlett and husband Steve, son Alan R. and wife Sharon of St. Pauls, granddaughters Amy Kathryn Parlett and Jennifer Marie of Brownsville, Oregon, sisters Eva Brunner of Tucker, Georgia, Carolyn Lyon of Leesburg, Florida and Marjorie Spradley of Hendersonville.
