Sara Tatum Bullard, 95, of Fayetteville N.C. passed away on February 14 at the Eno Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Durham NC where she has lived for the last six years. Her funeral will be held at Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2 p.m . The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. She was a long time member of The Hay Street Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Sara was born and raised in Sampson County but lived most of her adult life in Fayetteville. After she retired from the Cumberland County School System, she was an active volunteer at the Highsmith-Rainey Hospital and several other service organizations. Sara had a quiet demeanor, a gentle spirit and a kind heart. She lived her life as much as possible, as an independent spirit in a way that would not be a burden to anyone. She will be remembered in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Sara is preceded in death by her husband Rupert to whom she was married for 49 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons, Rupert E. Jr. of Mt. Gretna PA, Roger H. of DeLand FL, David P. of Butner NC, eight grand children and eight great grand children. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 to 2 pm at the church in the fellowship hall
