Sara Elizabeth Hood, 95, of Boone, formerly of Fayetteville, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 31, 2008, at 2 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel. The burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Washington Hood. She is survived by her son, Dr. Ron Hood and his wife, Geri Miller, of Fleetwood, NC; a granddaughter, Zoe Schriver; and a great-granddaughter, Anrai Schriver. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
