Sarah Pickett Hare, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Haymount Rehab and Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.

Sarah was born on May 14, 1932 in Cumberland County to the late Ernest Pickett and Geneva Kennedy Pickett.

She was a homemaker and worked part-time at Fayetteville Technical Community College in the Bookstore as students returned to classes each fall semester.  She was a member of Northwood Temple for over 40 years and served on the Bereavement Committee.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Hare, her siblings, Elin Marie Pickett, Hilda White, and Rev. Harold Pickett.

Sarah is survived by her three daughters, Sharon McDaniel and husband, Donald, Charlotte Hare, and Carol Norris and husband, Michael; son, Richard Charles Hare; grandchildren, Evelyn Martinez and husband, Joseph, Jacob Norris, Matthew Norris, and Ian McDaniel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 11 am to 12 pm at Northwood Temple.  Funeral services will begin at noon and burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery.
